Johns Creek Rolls Out the Road Widening Trojan Horse

Johns Creek residents have consistently opposed road widening - particularly adjacent to residential communities. Despite that, City Staff have presented “options” for intersection improvements that exclusively include road widening on Medlock Bridge Road. Henry Ford famously offered the Model T in any color a customer wanted, as long as it was black. City Staff has presented Johns Creek residents with the same type of false choice.

City Staff has identified and prioritized 41 challenging intersections in Johns Creek. Of the 41 intersections identified, 35 may be destined to become roundabouts. Love them or hate them, it appears we’ll all need to become accustomed to going around in circles.

A Wink and a Nod Zoning Practices

The active adult apartment complex at the corner of Medlock Bridge Road/SR141 and Bell Road is not consistent with the plans submitted and ultimately approved by City Council. This is not an isolated case - it happens routinely, and always to the benefit of the developer while at the expense of the residents. We need to get the zoning process under better control.
