Zoning Public Participation Meeting - Thursday October 4, 2018

As of midday Monday October 1, 2018, local residents have gathered more than 450 petitions seeking denial of a developer’s request to build 12 homes on 2.88 acres at 11085 State Bridge Road in Johns Creek. Concurrent variances are requested to reduce the property line setbacks from 40 feet to just 5 feet, and to reduce the minimum distance between home from 14 feet to just 10 feet. The subject property is immediately adjacent to single level homes along Braided Blanket Bluff and Indian Village Drive, meaning that those existing homes would have three level homes towering directly behind their properties.

Petition to reject proposed residential development at 11085 State Bridge Road has been supported by over 450 signatories as of 2:30 PM October 1, 2018.

Keep in mind that once variances are granted to a development, they become the precedent to which any future requests will refer in seeking similar treatment and allowance.

The development proposals will add significant additional impervious surface to an area that abounds Long Indian Creek. With Johns Creek’s self-stated “Year of Stormwater”, there is no mention of any special provisions for construction materials that could mitigate negative stormwater impacts.

Please consider joining the petition to reject proposed residential development at 11085 State Bridge Road in Johns Creek, GA, and plan to attend the Zoning Public Participation Meeting on Thursday October 4, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Municipal Court, 11445 Johns Creek Parkway, Johns Creek, GA 30097.
